Time is still or perpetual, what is its speed, if any? Is it horizontal, vertical, circular, dimensional or static? How is one going to measure it - by a clock, movement of the sun, moon, stars and planets, or by the passing seasons. Or is one going to measure by the cry of a newborn, laughter of a toddler, giggling of a teenager, a sweet voice of a lady, crackling voice of the grandmother or the silence in the room.. http://www.timephysics.com/

Insurance misunderstood in the extreme Muslim society
I have worked in the insurance field for over 20 years and I can vouch that insurance is good. It makes a person responsible to pay for their future eventuality of mishaps happening, over which we have no control. Just as saving is good for you for a rainy day, so is insurance. You do not become a burden on society. It is not gambling, as most people think, because it is not a game of chance, where you may or may not have a windfall of money. The principle of insurance payouts is to indemnify one for their loss to make them whole, but not to give them a profit. In fact, by having insurance, you are not only protecting yourself from suffering financially from a tragedy, but actually helping society. If you are blessed by God not to have any misfortune, the money you pay into insurance, helps others who may have mishaps. Insurance is based on a principle and a system that spreads risk amongst a certain group of people, to help the ones who need it. You do others, and yourself a favor by way of insuring your risks. Like any other business, insurance companies do make a profit, but do not forget, they put together plans that eventually help the ones that really need it. This subject is very vast. It is important to have both knowledge of insurance as well as our religion to really discern whether it is bad or good. Insurance is good as it is a form of charity ....and not gambling, as most Islamists believe.

A letter to Barack H. Obama, the 44th President of the United States
As I watched the final debate of the GOP last night, before the Iowa caucuses, with their one and only agenda, to make President Obama, a one term president only, I felt utterly disgusted with the standard of these candidates. Its candidates like these, who harm the welfare of the United States of America, in times like this. What are they thinking? I was inspired to write a letter to our president, which runs as follows: "
Dear Mr. President: This is a suggestion from a humble citizen regarding improving our economy and social structure. Time is running short and we have to get you elected, as this nation needs you for your sincere efforts and vision for a better America. You, as President can make this happen. You can beat the republicans in their agenda for not increasing the tax brackets for the wealthy at any cost and making you a one term president. Wealthy patriots, true American at heart, have no objection to an increase in their taxes and also do not want any tax cuts. Let’s put them to the test by getting them to pay indirectly back to the nation through voluntary tax returns, the taxes and tax-cuts they have received thus far that they do not need, and continue to do so. Going into the future they can pay a voluntary tax to the nation to improve our infrastructures, schools, education funds to create a strong foundation for our educational standards to compete with the rest of the world, college loans, job rehabilitation for changing skills needed for present and future jobs, better & uniform healthcare for all citizens, etc. In return, the democratic wing of the congress & senate as well as well-intended republicans and independents can offer much needed incentives to these wealthy corporations, individuals, philanthropists, through special legislation or the executive order of our president, to make it easier for them to operate in order to increase our revenues, exports, employment and uplift the working poor, middle-class as well as small-business owners. This will indirectly also reduce lobbying powers of the wealthy greedy corporations and influential individuals and businesses. Mr. President it may seem a tall order, but we, Americans have always outshone and leaded in hard times for which we have been admired throughout the world. If we could come out of the most impossible situations in World War II from scratch, during the last major depression era, so can we, in these peace times. Dr. Martin Luther King's dream must be realized once again and you can do it with the help of ordinary citizens like me who will stand behind you and give you a second term to fulfill this dream. Please take this message to the people in your election campaigns. God Bless you and God Bless the United States of America."
No wealth or might can beat the courage and bravery of well-intended people.

Start of a journey
...contd..Through out the ages, various civilizations, philosophers and religions have touched on the concept of time. Vedic scriptures of the Hindu civilization, in the Puranas and Ithihasas describe time as cyclic, i.e. it is endless. Plato and Pythagoras of Europe had similar notion of time. With the advent of Judeo-Christian civilisation, the linear time became prominent. The Arabic concept of dahr, or endless time, also corresponds to the Greek concept of aion, which was personified and given power over human life. Both represent a cyclical concept of time which proceeds continuously, irreversibly affecting human fates, as per research done by Georges Tamer, M.S. Sofia Chair in Arabic Studies, The Ohio State University. Modern Science shares the linear concept of time. http://www.nchtuk.org/content.php?id=68. Time in the Qur'an is an interesting concept and reality per .Irshaad Hussain."Meta-historical religion :In the Qur'an, the key "events" which determine man's metaphysical makeup all take place outside the flow of time as we know it. They take place in a different plane of existence than this material plane - in a "trans-historical" or "meta-historical" plane, where time has a different flow and flux so that the relation of that world to this must be viewed as a hierarchical rather than a linear relationship.
One of these events is the creation of Adam and the teaching of the names to him. The Qur'an says, "...Thy Lord said unto the angels: lo! I am about to create a mortal out of mire, And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall down before him prostrate....And We taught Adam the names (realities) of all things...." (Qur'an 38:72...) These events take place outside of the flow of history as we understand it. They are metaphysical, rather than exclusively physical in nature. They are metaphysical answers to the question "What is man? What is contained in his essential nature and what is his potential?"......http://www.islamfrominside.com/Pages/Articles/The%20concept%20of%20time%20in%20the%20Quran.html
